Meet the amazing staff at our ReStore, who work hard everyday to ensure more families can achieve their dreams of affordable homeownership!
Meet Lew Sevestre, ReStore Director

This month, we’re excited to spotlight an interview with Lew Sevestre, Director of the Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity ReStore. When you shop at our ReStore, our staff greets and helps you, and now we want to provide an inside look at what inspires their dedication. Lew’s passion for service truly embodies what makes the ReStore so special.

When asked what Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity’s mission means to him, Lew shared, “Habitat’s mission reminds me that all my hard work is going to help out a family and help build communities.”

This shared sense of purpose unites our team and drives our daily work.

Lew says his favorite part of working at the ReStore is seeing all the customers who walk through the doors. “Knowing we are helping them out as well is incredibly rewarding.” Whether customers are searching for home improvement treasures or simply browsing, Lew’s team is always there to lend a hand and a smile.

The ReStore’s role goes far beyond retail. As Lew explains, “The ReStore not only helps partially fund the building of houses but keeps tons of material from hitting our landfills through sales, repurposing, and recycling.” Each purchase and donation furthers both Habitat’s mission and environmental responsibility.

Lew is deeply grateful for the volunteers who make the ReStore’s work possible. “Volunteers help out the ReStore tremendously by helping with the processing of donations so we can get them to the floor quicker and produce more funds for Habitat.” Their efforts directly impact our ability to serve more families and strengthen our community.

Meet Brandy Hernandez, ReStore Assistant Store Manager

Next, we’re delighted to introduce you to Brandy Hernandez, Assistant Store Manager at the Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Brandy’s commitment to our mission and her love for the community shine through in everything she does.

When asked what Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity’s mission means to her, Brandy shared, “What Habitat's mission means to me is stability, community, prosperity, education, and family!” These values are at the heart of every project and interaction at the ReStore.

Brandy’s favorite part about working at the ReStore is the chance to connect with people from all walks of life. “It’s a great way to meet our community shoppers, partners, and most of all, to find what our shoppers are in need of.” Brandy takes pride in ensuring that everyone who visits the ReStore feels welcome and supported.

The ReStore’s mission is the same as Greeley-Weld Habitat’s, as Brandy explains: “It allows families to live comfortably without the stress of having to decide which bill to pay first.” By selling affordable home goods and furniture items, every purchase at the ReStore helps ensure that Habitat homes can be mortgaged to families at no more than 30% of their monthly income.

Volunteers are the backbone of the ReStore, and Brandy is grateful for their support. “Volunteers would help with my job in so many ways, such as cleaning, organizing, and most of all, spreading the word about what we do.” Their efforts help keep the ReStore running smoothly and extend our reach throughout the community. Thank you for being part of our mission! Whether you shop, donate, or volunteer, you’re helping us build stability, community, and hope for families in Greeley-Weld County.

Lastly, we’d like to share a heartfelt reflection from Brianna Nelson, ReStore Operations Manager, offering insight into what Habitat for Humanity’s mission means and how the ReStore supports our community every day.

Meet Brianna Nelson, ReStore Operations Manager

Up next, we’d like to share a heartfelt reflection from Brianna Nelson, ReStore Operations Manager, offering insight into what Habitat for Humanity’s mission means and how the ReStore supports our community every day.

"Habitat’s mission shows me that there are people and organizations out there that care enough about their communities to do the right thing for them. Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity levels the playing field for those who hope to own their own home one day, setting them up for stability and success. It gives me peace of mind knowing that organizations like ours exist."

Our team’s favorite part of working at the ReStore is building relationships with our regular volunteers, customers, and donors. We see you as part of our team—your support is the reason we’re able to continue our work. Your kindness and generosity inspire us to give our best every single day.

The ReStore’s mission is a perfect complement to Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity’s. After all, what’s a place to call home without a comfy couch to share memories and laughter? The ReStore offers affordable options for our community while keeping perfectly usable furniture, home goods, and building materials out of landfills. Being on a budget shouldn’t mean you can’t have a comfortable, welcoming space.

Volunteers are the heart and hands of our store. Our daily tasks can be challenging, but when volunteers join us, they bring new energy and ideas, and help ease the workload for our staff. Their dedication allows us to stretch our resources and expand our impact in the community.

Thank you for being part of our mission—whether you shop, donate, or volunteer, you’re helping create homes, hope, and a brighter future for our neighbors. Are you ready to make a difference today? ReStore Volunteer Spotlight - Steve

CTE Student Spotlight – Cailean Kunkle’s Journey with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity

We’re excited to shine a spotlight on Cailean Kunkle, a senior at Greeley West High School and a standout participant in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program, which partners with Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity.

Cailean first joined the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program because he was interested in becoming an electrician. When he discovered the program’s partnership with Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity, signing up was an easy decision. Not only did it align with his career goals, but it also provided an opportunity to make a difference in the community—something that runs in the family. Cailean’s dad volunteered with Habitat, so his family was especially enthusiastic about his hands-on learning experience.
One memorable moment for Cailean was driving past the Hope Springs development with his family. When he pointed out the house he helped build, his family’s reaction was priceless: “You built that house? No way?!” Cailean felt a deep sense of pride in showing them the tangible results of his hard work.

Through building homes from the ground up, Cailean has gained valuable insight into why certain steps are necessary on the electrical side, deepening his understanding of the construction process as a whole. This experience has strengthened his resolve to pursue a career as an electrician.

After high school, Cailean plans to continue his journey by entering an apprenticeship or attending college or trade school, with an eye to earning a degree in electrical engineering if he chooses the college path.

Students like Cailean are a testament to the power of partnership, hands-on learning, and community service. We’re proud to be part of his journey and thankful for all the Career and Technical Education students and volunteers shaping our community’s future.

You can help students like Cailean build brighter futures while helping families in our community create safe and stable places to call home by making a donation today!
